Ammonite (15)

Wednesday 2 June 7.30pm

Ammonite is a 2020 romantic drama film loosely inspired by the life of British palaeontologist Mary Anning.
Set on the striking, wind-swept Dorset coastline, British filmmaker Francis Lee (God's Own Country) explores the life of British Palaeontologist Mary Anning in this period romance starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan. Anning's talented, but often overlooked, career as a fossil hunter has left her walking the shorelines alone. When the melancholic Charlotte Murchison arrives, entrusted into Anning's care by her wealthy husband, a compelling connection overcomes their initial fears. Marrying an unexpected friendship with overwhelming passion, the two women seek to overcome their great sense of loneliness.
